As if you don’t already have enough sugar … the holiday season is upon us in Champaign-Urbana and our local bakeries are celebrating in all the very most festive ways.

Gingerbread, sugar cookie, pecan pie and so much more to add, these are just some of the things you can find at our favorite establishments

Hopscotch Bakery + Market, Champaign: Gingersnap, cranberry orange and apple cinnamon muffins are in for the holiday season!

Jarling’s Custard Cup, Champaign: Peppermint is the flavor of December and we love it most topped with cold fudge!

Hunny Bunny Bakes, Champaign: Cookies available by pre-order and sometimes found in CU Flower House, as another option.

Just BEE Açaí, Campus: Seasonal bowl, “beneath the mistletoe” is what we are most excited for at Just Bee. The pomegranate topping makes this the most festive looking acaí bowl you’ll find!

Mad Goat Coffee, Champaign: Try the candy cane matcha at Mad Goat if you are looking for something festive AND sippable. We love the candy canes on top!

Martinelli’s, Champaign: The peppermint mocha cannoli is something our readers get excited for at Martinelli’s, but in addition to that, you can often find festive cookies (below) in their bakery case.

Tasty Tart, Champaign: The “bear-y sweet” holiday box is what you want to pre-order here. Four extra-special festive tarts and an adorable polar bear figure, too. Pick up on Dec. 24 or 25.

Ye Olde Donut Shoppe, Champaign: The star here is the seasonal gingerbread donut. We haven’t yet seen these in 2025, so watch social media to see when they may be announced.
