Whether you prefer oatmeal, chocolate chip, monster, or sugar, we’ve got our picks for some of Champaign-Urbana’s finest cookies
Do your personal cookie preferences lean toward plain? Or something with the kitchen sink thrown in? Either way, Champaign-Urbana is sure to have a cookie to satisfy your tastebuds.

Our readers recently lost their collective minds when learning that the signature pink boxes of Crumbl Cookies were coming to Champaign. Besides Crumbl, readers expressed love for the cookies at Barnes and Noble, Potbelly, and DP Dough, as well as the magical delivery option at Insomnia Cookies — but as always with our “favorite food” lists, we put the focus on small businesses in our community.
We would also be remiss if we didn’t mention that Costco has a pretty incredible chocolate chip cookie, too.

Keep in mind that the bakers listed below who do not have physical storefronts conduct most business through pre-orders. Brick-and-mortar bakers will also appreciate pre-orders for large or special orders. Some bakers may also offer DIY cookie decorating kits, cookie decorating classes, or other cookie-related fun.
Amy’s Sweet Delights, Royal: Decorated sugar cookies, drop cookies, crinkle cookies, and more. Check out her fun elf arrival cookies for December. These treats can be found at area markets, but Amy also offers local pickup (in Royal) and operates a kiosk in Lincoln Square Mall (near the Art Coop) on select days of the week.
Art Mart, Champaign: Art Mart has incredible milk chocolate chunk cookies. Their pumpkin cookie (available seasonally) is also a favorite of ours.

Bevier Cafe, Urbana: What may be a best-kept-secret on campus, we love Bevier Cafe cookies. We find this area of campus particularly easy to park in, so if the craving for a cookie hits, you can make a quick trip over to Bevier.

The Bread Company, Urbana: All of the fresh baked cookies at The Bread Company are delicious. Offerings vary.
Central Illinois Bakehouse, area farmers markets and Market Wagon: Try the pistachio shortbread cookies. Offerings also vary here.
Common Ground Food Co-Op, Urbana: Chocolate chip from Common Ground are delicious!
Harvest Market, Champaign: All of Harvest Market’s cookies are incredible, but a few of note are chocolate chip, chocolate chunks, oatmeal raisin and the corn cookie, too!
Hopscotch Bakery + Market, Champaign: We love the seasonal cookies at Hopscotch. Another famous pumpkin cookie here.

Hunny Bunny Bakes, Champaign: A storefront for Hunny Bunny now lives on South Neil Street next door to frequent collaborator CU Flower House. In addition to making delicious custom cakes and cookies, you’ll find imaginative baked goods here, especially seasonally and around the holidays.

Krannert Center’s Intermezzo Cafe, Urbana: They always have great cookies in the case. Krannert is a great stop for lunch (or hey, just for a cookie).
The New Sweet Indulgence, Champaign: We love their cookie dough sandwich or sunflower chocolate chip shortbread cookies. They also have a great decorated sugar cookie.
Pekara Bakery & Bistro, Champaign: Pekara has really tasty chocolate chip cookies. Their lunch special comes with a cookie (sugar, pictured below).

Pies by Inge, Monticello: We love their iced sugar cookies and iced lemon cookies. Really, you can’t go wrong with anything from Pies by Inge, as they are one of the very best bakeries around.
RegCakes, Savoy: A gluten-free bakery, anything you order here is gluten free. You have to try their persimmon cookies!
Rick’s Bakery, Urbana: Rick’s frosted sugar cookies are wonderful! You can order cookies by the pound here and you won’t be disappointed.
Wildflour Bakery, Tuscola: Specializing in decorated sugar cookies, “fat & famous” drop cookies, chocolate chip cookie cakes, pies, and more. It can often be found at pop-up markets, especially around the holidays — but also offer local pickup (in Tuscola) and shipping.
