Readers Recommend: Champaign-Urbana Brunch Favorites

March 16, 2021 By From The Editors

Going out for brunch in Champaign-Urbana is a special treat, even with the kids in tow

Brunch is the stuff summer Sundays are made of. OK, any Sunday — and probably Saturdays too. Brunch seems decadent and has the veneer of being a luxury, especially when there are grown-up drinks involved. But it’s possible to get good bang for your brunch buck, especially here in Champaign-Urbana.

Champaign Urbana brunch favoritesRecommendations come from our Facebook readers. These establishments are not endorsed by chambanamoms.com; we are just the messengers. Always call ahead to confirm operating or menu details, as those are subject to change often and without notice.

Champaign-Urbana’s favorite family-friendly brunch restaurants, according to our readers:

Big Grove Tavern, downtown Champaign:  “We took our 9-week-old to our first brunch since becoming parents to Big Grove Tavern. The staff were so wonderful and accommodating from the moment we stepped in with the baby already crying!”   “$10 BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS Saturday and Sunday!! Kid friendly”

Harvest Market, Champaign: “Great brunch buffet and excellent mimosas!” “Their weekend brunch buffet was outstanding, and their made-from-scratch biscuits haunt me to this day.”

Original Pancake House, Champaign: “The Original Pancake House is always fantastic.” “OHOP on summer mornings when it is not as crowded.”

Le Peep, Champaign: “My daughter would get so excited about the happy face pancakes at Le Peep.”

Silvercreek, Urbana: “Endless yummy food options, great drinks & outdoor seating where you can watch the kids enjoy the nearby stream.” “We love the endless food choices, mimosas & relaxed atmosphere.”  “There’s something for everyone. Kids love the waffle bar, some love the carving station and savory sides, I love their lox station and omelette bar. Plus their desserts.”

Other mentions from readers:
Courier Cafe, Urbana
Hamilton Walker’s, downtown Champaign
Huaraches Moroleon, Urbana
The Hub, Champaign (edge of Campustown)
Maize at the Station, downtown Champaign
