Fourth of July Events in Champaign-Urbana (2026 Guide)

May 31, 2026 By From The Editors

The Fourth of July is coming quick — and that means family friendly events in the Champaign-Urbana area

In Champaign-Urbana and beyond, marking Independence Day means more than a week of celebrations: parades, craft days, festivals, fireworks and more. So don’t be surprised to see that a lot of this Fourth of July revelry actually takes place on days other than the actual holiday.

But hey — why limit the celebrations to just one day? That seems to be the mantra throughout East Central Illinois. The best news: many of these events are completely free! Any admission prices are indicated where applicable.

Remember that weather conditions may affect these events so always check with organizers before heading out.

Looking for all fireworks happening near Champaign-Urbana? We have the ultimate fireworks list, coming soon. How about what is open and what is closed on Fourth of July? We will have that info as well.
