Change this year – The 2026 Monticello Fireworks display will be held southeast of Monticello Middle School. The grassy area on the south side of the school will be used for seating.

Food, Music, and Fireworks
The Monticello Freedom Festival Committee invites residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day early at the annual Freedom Festival fireworks celebration on Friday, July 3.
The family-friendly celebration begins at 5:00 p.m. with food trucks, vendors, and music, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, enjoy the entertainment and food offerings, and find a spot to enjoy the evening’s festivities.
Event Location and Policies
The event grounds will be located on Monticello Middle School property. For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited anywhere on school property.
Parking Information
Limited parking will be available at Monticello Middle School.
Additional parking is available at:
Monticello United Methodist Church (donation requested)
Crossroads Church (donation requested)
On-street parking is also available in designated areas.
Event organizers ask attendees to respect neighboring properties and public safety by not blocking driveways, fire hydrants, intersections, or roadways.
Those choosing to view the fireworks from surrounding rural roads should park safely, remain off the roadway, and follow all traffic and parking regulations.
Shuttle Service Available
Avoid the parking and traffic… The Monticello Music Boosters will again provide shuttle service throughout the evening for a donation.
Suggested Donation:
$4 per person
$12 per family
Cash and electronic payments will be accepted.
Shuttle service will operate from 5:00 p.m. until after the event concludes. Riders can park at Monticello High School and look for the designated shuttle pickup tent.
The shuttle will transport guests to Monticello Middle School and will drop off passengers on school property. Following the fireworks display, return service will pick up riders at the MHS Sievers Center.
Please note that shuttle service will stop once the fireworks begin and will resume after the display concludes.
The Freedom Fest Committee looks forward to welcoming the community for an evening of patriotic celebration, fellowship, music, food, and fireworks. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join friends and neighbors for one of Monticello’s favorite summer traditions.
