Wondering where the best place is to take your toddler to play in Champaign-Urbana? We’ve asked our readers, and they’ve given us their recommendations!
Davidson Park, Champaign: “We love Davidson Park on Church Street. I think the age range for the equipment is 2-6 years. I started taking my son there at 1.5 years and it’s perfect. Small and pretty private.”
Eisner Park, Champaign: “I like Eisner Park in Champaign. Mats under and tons of little things to do for little ones. BUT no shade! So very hot from 10-12, which is when I leave my house with my son.”
Carle Park, Urbana: “I like Carle Park in Urbana (just west of the high school). It has a small tot area which has mulch ground cover.”
AMBUCS Park, Urbana: “I’ve been taking my 14-month-old there since she was about 10-months- old.” “We used to drive 45 minutes to bring our kiddos to Ambucs playground when they were 1 and 2. It is wonderful and never too busy.”
Sunnycrest Tot Lot, Urbana: “There is a little hidden park in Urbana perfect for that age, it’s called Sunnycrest Tot Lot.”
Colbert Park, Savoy: “The parent-child swing is awesome!”

Indoor Play:
With squishy mats underneath play equipment, our readers also love taking their toddlers to the Windsor Road Church Indoor Playground and the First Christian Church Indoor Playground and Track, both located in Champaign. Although one reader suggests to visit these popular indoor playareas during the school day: “After school lets out for the day, those also become overrun with older kids.”
