Enjoy all the things Krannert Art Museum on the University of Illinois campus has to offer
Champaign-Urbana area families will enjoy strolling through the galleries and taking in the art that fills the Krannert Art Museum
There are so many things to love about Krannert Art Museum. It is a great place to head with kids and introduce them to a “just right” amount of art galleries, even if you’ve never been in this kind of museum before. FREE and so easily accessible to the Champaign-Urbana community, Krannert Art Museum (or KAM) is a great place to plan a visit.

Enjoying the Museum
This is not a very crowded museum. We’re certain you’ll be able to enjoy everything you wish in just a short period of time. Say, maybe an hour? Again, it is a “just right” size, even for littles.

This was the first visit to Krannert Art Museum our kids could remember and they enjoyed it for what it was. If you have never taken your children to an art museum before, it is a good experience to introduce them to; its quieter, slower pace contrasts to the loud hustle and bustle of the typical children’s museum.
You can find upcoming family-friendly events in the “exhibitions and events” tab on the Krannert Art Museum website. These events make a fantastic reason to take kids, especially younger ones, to the art museum for the first time.

And while you’re there, be sure to check out our favorite places to eat in Campustown, too!
