Fall is our first chance to do some seasonal decorating as we inch closer to the holidays. Whether you are celebrating a bountiful harvest, anticipating spooky Halloween hijinks, or simply defying the disappearing daylight, we can all appreciate a festive front yard.

Or we can pretend that skeletons are smiling because they are happy to see us. (Right?)

Here’s our list of spooky, Halloween-themed yards. We will be adding to this continuously as we approach Halloween, so check back often!

Champaign

Prospect Avenue and Washington Street — Drive a little bit north of Church Street on Prospect Avenue and you’ll encounter this giant skeleton, with two dogs, too.

1 Greencroft Drive — This skeleton at 1 Greencroft Dr. in Champaign also speaks ghost

University Avenue and Prairie Street — Check out this yard full of skeletons right across from West Side Park.

Crystal Tree Drive — Singing pumpkins and so much more!

Devonshire Drive — We want to check this one out at night, too!

1110 S. New St. — The South New Street Nightmare house, one of C-U’s traditional decorations, is back in 2025.

913 W. Columbia Ave. — This one’s lit up from 6-9 p.m. for your family to check out.

2107 Charwick Dr. — Animation and special effects are the highlights of this one.

3011 W. John St. — The sights are accompanied by music — Ozzy Osbourne, naturally — at this house from 8-10 p.m. most nights.

2815 Cherry Hills Dr. — Lights synced to music; tune to 103.3 FM. Sunset to 10 p.m. Visit lights.peterson.uno to vote for the next song while the show is running.

Urbana

1810 Silver Hill Drive — Several unique and homemade elements, including a skeleton Illini fan.

2016 S. Vine St. — There’s a giant octopus on the roof, two large spiders and a graveyard that spills into the neighbor’s yard.

Savoy

508 Silver Lake Ct — Large skeletons can be found here … the whole neighborhood is decorated!

W Main St and Wesley Ave — They run a fog machine on Friday and Saturday nights (and Halloween) with weather permitting. They will also have inflatables (wind permitting) and some custom creations are on site. They add elements every year to make it bigger and better!
