Aikman Wildlife Adventure in Arcola announced Tuesday via its Facebook page that it will be open starting May 1 for “drive-thru” viewings.
Aikman will be open Thursdays through Mondays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Our standard Vehicle Only Adventure is $25/vehicle, but we know times have been hard on people. If you can’t afford the full $25, you can make a donation. We want to be a blessing to others,” the Facebook post said.
“Over 75% of our budget comes from guests being able to come and experience our entire park. Since we don’t know when we will be able to open all our Adventures, any amount you give above and beyond the standard admission cost of $25, will help to support our animals and our mission to provide food, shelter, and care.”
Aikman features a spectrum of exotic and common animals. It normally has a variety of options to view the animals but for the time being will only open its drive-thru, which includes a mile-long path in which you view animals from your car.
