With local stores like Meijer and Walmart offering online ordering and pickup services, grocery shopping in the Champaign-Urbana area has gotten a lot easier these days.
Now, Schnucks is taking it one step further.
Schnucks’ shoppers in the Champaign-Urbana area can now get groceries delivered right to their door.
“Schnucks Delivers”, which was launched July 13, offers online grocery ordering and home delivery across the central Illinois area.
For Champaign-Urbana, grocery delivery will be available in the following zip codes: 61820; 61801; 61821; 61802; and 61822.
Delivery is also available to Savoy (61874), Tolono (61880), and Seymour (61875).
“Schnucks Delivers” replaces “Schnucks Express Connection” online home delivery service that began in 1998 and is offered in some areas.
Paul Simon, a senior communications specialist with Schnucks Markets Inc., says the new home delivery service “enhances” the online shopping experience with “advancements and technologies today’s customer’s expect.”
Schnucks is partnering with Instacart, a national online shopping and delivery network.
To order, visit Schnucksdelivers.com, set up an account and begin choosing groceries. Payment is made online. At checkout, customers choose a delivery window within one hour, two hours, or up to a week in advance.
Ordering and Delivering Costs
There are two options for ordering and delivering costs. An express subscription, which includes unlimited $35 and higher orders, costs $149 per year or $14.99 a month.
As a bonus in the first month, customers can sign up for a free one-year subscription, which includes unlimited grocery deliveries on orders over $35. (Offer expires on Aug. 13, 2017.)
For a single order of $35 or more, a two-hour delivery is $5.99 and a one-hour delivery is $9.99. For a $10-$34.99 order, a two-hour delivery is $7.99. Delivery is available seven days a week.
