Meet the Parents Behind Paint Like Me Party (and a Giveaway!)

Elizabeth and Mike McDermith of Mahomet are parents to seven children, but Paint Like Me Party is their baby.

They started the company three years ago with a goal to be creatively different from all the other wine and paint companies they had been noticing in their travels.

Elizabeth is a full time professional artist who works in mixed media. She wanted to share her love of textures and layered products with the masses and began teaching canvas classes with her personal style and a unique format: smaller canvases, no easels (so you can interact your friends!) and lots and lots of cool products.

Elizabeth and Mike have a studio on Main Street in Mahomet. Elizabeth is the creative director and instructor while Mike is in charge of communications. They offer parties on a regular basis not only in their boutique style studio, but also in Decatur, Warrensburg and now Champaign at Alto Vineyards and Fat City’s City Center. Their ‘students’ love the use of unconventional tools and products, and the ease of creating something beautiful with the freedom to add their own personalities and creative touches to their artwork. No two paintings are ever the same. But they always turn out beautifully!

They also offer classes for children age 6 and up. Classes are not suitable for children under age 6 due to the types of tools and products they use. You can book a private birthday party for your child in their beautiful studio, attend regularly scheduled parent/child classes or, if your children are old enough, bring them to an open enrollment party (age requirements listed with each party).
