Winter Solstice Bonfire
Head to Monticello to celebrate the “shortest day of the year” at the Winter Solstice Bonfire on Sunday, December 21 from 5-9 p.m. in the Allerton Meadow!
The winter solstice marks the official beginning of winter and has been celebrated in a variety of ways for thousands of years, traditionally honoring the imminent return of the sun and symbolizing new beginnings.
In addition to the bonfire (lit around 6 p.m.), take time to stroll through Holiday GLOW and warm up with a drink from the bar or meal from a food truck or the Greenhouse Café (open 5-9 p.m. with a limited menu).
$10/vehicle, payable upon arrival*. Cash only; exact change appreciated.
*Please note that there may be a wait for entry into this popular event. Plan to arrive early if you would like to be present for the bonfire lighting around 6 p.m. They will do their best to get vehicles into the Park as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!
