Enjoy the fun of “Draggin’ Main” in Paxton, Illinois!
Whether you have a classic car/truck/motorcycle, or a new one, a beautifully restored vehicle or one held together with duct tape and bailing wire, a road warrior or a curb queen– come out and cruise downtown Paxton! All vehicles are welcome to cruise or to hang by the curb!
Enjoy the afternoon & evening cruising in Paxton and when you need a break stop into some unique shops, enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants or grab a quick bite at Paxton Main Street’s grill tent located at Veteran’s Square (old bowling alley site). Jim Swick will be performing on the lawn of Veteran’s Square from 4-7PM, all are invited to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the music and watch the cars.
Show off your rides or simply cruise like you used to “back in the day”, but remember to follow all rules of the road, be courteous, and NO burnouts (unless you are willing to donate to the coffers of the Police Department!). This is a family friendly event and it’s perfect to introduce to a new generation.
. Be ready to cruise up Market Street, make a U-turn at Holmes then cruise back down (safely turn around in True Value’s parking lot). You can simply cruise like we used to “back in the day” or park on the downtown street to mingle with friends. Feel free to bring lawn chairs.
Paxton Main Street will host a hot dog and hamburger cook-out at Veteran’s Square (where old bowling alley was) featuring Paxton alum Jim Swick singing and playing guitar. Draggin’ Main 2024 t-shirts will be for sale at Paxton Mercantile and Veteran’s Square.
Free street parking throughout Paxton. Please be respectful of residential and business property. Gather old friends from “the good ‘ole days” and have them meet you “uptown” to relive the memories!
