Whether the skies are cloudy or not, the April 8 total solar eclipse is a big event. Some people have been waiting decades for this.
If all the talk about the eclipse has intrigued you, perhaps enough to see it from within the path of totality, don’t miss the April meeting of the Champaign Urbana Astronomical Society (CUAS). Members and interested astronomers, both amateur and professional, will share their observations of this spectacular event.
Please join them on Thursday evening, April 11, 7:00 pm, at the Staerkel Planetarium. It’s located on the west side of the Parkland Community College Campus, 2400 W. Bradley Avenue, Champaign. Meetings typically last until 8:30 pm. There is no charge for visitors to attend.
If you miss this event, don’t worry. There’s another total solar eclipse right here in Champaign and Urbana – on Wednesday, October 17, 2153!
See www.cuas.org for information about upcoming programs, as well as public observing sessions.
