The AFL-CIO of Champaign County is once again sponsoring the annual Labor Day Parade and Picnic this year, on Monday, September 2, 2019. This is the parade known as the “candy parade” in Champaign-Urbana!
WHO: All are welcome & encouraged to come to the Parade AND Picnic
WHAT: Labor Day PARADE, featuring floats by union locals, community organizations, politicians, and high school bands.
PICNIC, where there will be food and drink, games for kids, speakers, and entertainment (TBD) at Prairie Park.
WHEN: September 2, 2019 – The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m and the picnic will immediately follow the parade.
WHERE: The parade will begin at Lincoln Square Mall, proceeding south on Broadway, east on Washington St. to Lierman St. then north to the Brookens County Building parking lot where it will disband. The picnic will follow at Prairie Park.
