The AFL-CIO of Champaign County is once again sponsoring the annual Labor Day Parade and Celebration on Monday, September 5, 2022. The theme this year is “YES for Workers’ Rights.” This is the parade known as the “candy parade” in Champaign-Urbana!
Beginning at 10:00am, the Parade this year will take place in downtown Champaign because of construction plans in the park used in the past. The parade will start at the corner of N Chestnut St and E Main St, and proceed through downtown to N Walnut St and E Washington St. Following the parade there will be free food, games for kids and entertainment at West Side Park.
WHO: All are welcome & encouraged to come to the Parade and Picnic
WHAT: Labor Day PARADE, featuring floats by union locals, community organizations, politicians, and high school bands.
PICNIC – free food, drinks, and games courtesy of friends in Labor at the end of the parade.
WHEN: September 5, 2022 – The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m and the picnic will immediately follow the parade.
