Champaign-Urbana has many opportunities for adults to take classes, join teams and participate in activities with other adults

We have a long list of places to go for activities when you are searching for extracurricular activities for children — but what about adults? When you are looking for somewhere to join a team, pursue a new hobby or take a class, we have a number of options for you to peruse (and are adding to this list frequently).

First Strokes Swim Academy

Whether you’ve always wanted to learn to swim, improve your technique, return to swimming after years away, or simply enjoy a low-impact way to stay active, First Strokes Swim Academy offers personalized aquatic programs designed especially for adults.

Champaign County YMCA HEAT Master’s Team

What is Masters Swimming? In swimming, Masters simply means you are 18 years of age or older! U.S. Masters Swimming is a national membership nonprofit that provides membership benefits to nearly 60,000 Masters swimmers across the country, who swim as part of its 52 Local Masters Swimming Committees (LMSCs), and more than 1,200 Masters Swimming clubs and workout groups.
