Champaign-Urbana Weekend Planner - Summer in all its Glory

The excitement of summer continues with even more festivals and splish-splash fun than we’ve seen already

Families can choose from many events and activities happening this weekend in Champaign-Urbana

We’re plunging ahead in summertime fun and this weekend does not disappoint. There are concerts, festivals, parties and movie nights at every turn, it seems! And best of all, nearly all of the fun is FREE! We love summer in Champaign-Urbana for a multitude of reasons, but the number of budget-friendly options certainly rises towards the top of the list.

If you are looking for more “on a budget” options, please check out this list here. We break options down by “free” and “not quite free but still cheap”. The options in the latter category share details on how to save on things like visits to the pool, for example.

Chambanamoms thanks Urbana Park District for presenting this weekend’s planner.

Urbana Park District wants you to know that you can buy 2026 memberships and passes to Crystal Lake Park Family Aquatic Center.

Buy a season-long membership or purchase a five- or 10-admission punch pass. Memberships for 2026 can currently be purchased at the Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center, the Health and Wellness Center, or Phillips Recreation Center, in person or over phone. Memberships are valid through Sept. 7, 2026 only.
