“Forging Liberty: The Road to Independence,” a special exhibit in honor of America’s 250th birthday celebration, will appear at the Champaign Public Library June 18-21.
Timed tickets, which are free, are now available. There are 100 timed tickets per hour.

The exhibition has been organized by the Champaign County History Museum. It features 21 authentic founding-era documents and artifacts that trace America’s path from protest to independence, revolution and nationhood. Also included: a copy of the Declaration of Independence, letters from George Washington, the Articles of Confederation, King George III’s response to the independence, Paul Revere’s engraving of the Boston Massacre and more.
The exhibit is part of the America 250 celebration, which commemorates the country’s 250th birthday.
