Sunshine makes us long for summer days with our families and fortunately, those days are right around the corner! We can’t wait to share everything exciting happening in Champaign-Urbana during the next four months because, spoiler alert, it is all VERY exciting! More festivals, more outdoor concerts, more food trucks showing up at parks and MORE family fun. We can hardly wait!

Christie Clinic Presents: Spring Snackdown Food Truck Rally

Wednesday, May 6, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

School’s (almost) out and it’s time to celebrate! Join Christie Clinic and chambanamoms.com at Christie Clinic at the Fields for an evening of food trucks and family fun! This event will take place on the parking lot outside Christie Clinic at the Fields in southwest Champaign, and is FREE to enter! Enjoy dinner and dessert from a variety of food trucks (available for purchase), plus stick around to play lawn games and check out the G-Code mobile gaming truck!

Confirmed food trucks: Ice Daddy’s, Paddy Daddy’s, Moo Mobile, Burrito King, La Paloma, Kona Ice, Keke’s Lemonade, Piato, The Main Scoop …and more to come!

Camp of the Week – CU Community Fab Lab

The Champaign-Urbana Community Fab Lab offers high-tech, hands-on summer camps for youth ages 10+ that bridge the gap between digital design and physical making. Campers move beyond basic screen time by using professional tools like 3D printers, sewing machines, laser cutters, and electronic sensors to bring their own unique projects to life, from custom plushies and digital games to tiny houses and functional electronics. Campers will discover and learn new skills fueled by their curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

Champaign Urbana Ballet

Champaign Urbana Ballet returns with a splash! The Little Mermaid is an entertaining and magical adventure for the whole family! Imagine Ziegfeld Follies under the sea, with a brave mermaid, bathing beauties, adorable crabs, jellyfish, a devious sea witch, and a handsome prince in search of true love. It’s glamorous, amusing, and you’ve never seen anything like it.

Meadowbrook Spring Carnival

Saturday, May 2, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Are you looking for something fun to do with the family that is FREE? Come out for a great time on May 2! They will have carnival games, inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, Smith Burger and Ice Daddy’s! They hope to see you there!
