We’ve got spring weather in the forecast and seasonal fun every direction we look
Families can choose from many events and activities happening this weekend in Champaign-Urbana
Let’s get excited for MAY! Because May brings so many things – the last days of school, opening days at the pools, new schedules and routines, and just a general switch-up in the pace of things for a three month season of the year. And in a few short weeks, we’ll be there once again!
Make sure to plan ahead on Friday evening and Saturday morning, as the Illinois Marathon (and Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and youth run) will be happening throughout the weekend. There may be street closures near you or where you are trying to go. Learn more about what to know about Marathon Weekend here.
This weekend is a good time to get in some solid spring fun. We’ll highlight a few of those events below. And summer is right around the corner! We have a lot to look forward to and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Urbana’s Market at the Square
Market at the Square runs every Saturday from May 2 through October.
Urbana’s Market at the Square is the place to shop when you want to shop local. Each week the Market features fresh-picked fruits and vegetables (some grown within Urbana City limits), beef, pork, chicken, bison, eggs, fresh flowers, baked goods, and food trucks. The Market also features the work of local makers including jewelry, soap, candles, ceramics, and paintings. There are musical performers and activities for kids each week. Urbana’s Market at the Square is a producer-only market which means everything is grown, made, or produced in Illinois by the people who are selling it.
