Families can choose from many events and activities happening this weekend in Champaign-Urbana

We are grateful for a weekend of somewhat decent temps around Champaign-Urbana so that we can enjoy a few of our favorite things from the warmer months right now in February. Want to go play at the park? We have mud and mulch free playgrounds that are great for warm days this time of year. How about a walk in the woods? Walking or biking paved trails at our Champaign County Forest Preserves are another favorite for mild winter days. Get out and enjoy!

This weekend brings the conclusion of Restaurant Week (more info below), and we have our take on what to eat during Restaurant Week. There are so many awesome options to try this year (and many new places on the list, too).

Next Generation School

Next Generation School is excited to invite the community to their Middle School Mingle on Friday, February 13, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Students and families are welcome to attend together to enjoy light, lunchtime refreshments and explore their campus on a short tour hosted by their teaching team. Parkland College for Kids

Parkland College presents exciting youth and teen camps to fill the summer days! College for Kids two-week, half-day camps for ages 6–13 offer fun and engaging STEAM classes in coding, technology, visual and performing arts, culinary, math, science, and much more. DiscoverU, the teen programming, offers students 12-18 the opportunity to explore camps that may lead to potential careers and help develop and build key skills for the future in Parkland’s state-of-the art facilities.
