Dutch Bros, the popular West Coast drive-thru coffee chain, will open its newest Illinois location in Urbana at noon on Monday, Dec. 15.
The store is at 809 W. Green St., at the site of what was once a gas station. It features walk-up service and a drive-through; Dutch Bros has no in-store seating. A word of warning to those motorists who might be in the area this week: Dutch Bros stores have proven wildly popular in other cities, and lines can become quite long, often spilling into the surrounding streets.
Dutch Bros is in the midst of a grand expansion, with 175 more stores planned in 2026. Originally founded in 1992 in Grants Pass, Ore, the Urbana store is the second Dutch Bros in the state of Illinois, the first being in Edwardsville.

Dutch Bros’ menu features seasonal drinks, shakes, smoothies, lemonade, energy drinks, frozen treats, protein coffee, all of which are customizable.
The addition of Dutch Bros marks an important escalation of the Champaign-Urbana coffee shop wars, which were ignited earlier by multiple locations of Seven Brew (one in Urbana and now two in Champaign), where drive-through lines are frequently wrapped around the store.

Customers who download the app and join Dutch Rewards can obtain a free medium drink.
