We are still here for all the summer magic as July draws to a close
Families can choose from many events and activities happening this weekend in Champaign-Urbana
We know, we know… we’re giving you a lot of back-to-school related items on chambanamoms.com in recent weeks. But that doesn’t change the fact that we’re still enjoying summer fun, like the Champaign County Fair and other one or two day festivals. Or any of the other things happening around town (which you can find on our event calendar no matter what the season). We won’t count the days down until the entire community heads back to school but we will say we will enjoy every day between now and when that day comes!
Chambanamoms thanks the Champaign Public Library for presenting this guide.
The Champaign Public Library’s mission is to inspire, inform, and connect our community.
Enjoy a fun-filled summer afternoon at the Champaign Public Library! Celebrate the close of the Oceans of Possibilities! Summer Reading Challenge (May 15–Aug 15) and pick up your prizes on Saturday, August 3 from 12–3 p.m. The all-ages celebration includes performances by a Steel Band Combo and Duo Katie Flynn and Kurt Reeder, face painting, free Kona Ice, bubble stations, crafts for kids, and big games. Be on the lookout for Pete the Cat who will be roaming the library all afternoon!
Have you already completed your Summer Reading Challenge and just can’t wait? Prizes for kids and teens can be picked up at their Children’s Service Desk on the first floor of the Main Library or the Checkout Desk at the Douglass Branch Library any time through August 15. They have enjoyed sharing a summer full of reading with you!
