As you celebrate mom this weekend, you can celebrate a gorgeous spring weekend at the same time
Families can choose from many events and activities happening this weekend in Champaign-Urbana
It is Mother’s Day weekend! That means that, this weekend more than ever, it is a great reason to celebrate and enjoy special time with (or without) your loved ones, depending on what your mom’s day plans look like. Reading this and thinking about what to do for a special mom in your life? (Ahem, dads.) Get some ideas here on how to make this weekend special, on any budget. Hint: Mom doesn’t want to cook for as much of this weekend as possible.
Finding a spot to eat may be challenging, but we have some guidance for you here on finding a spot for Mother’s Day brunch.

OpenCase
Introducing OpenCase—a husband-and-wife-owned start-up with a strong CU connection! John created OpenCase to fix annoying issues with MagSafe: slipping or sliding accessories that sometimes even fall off. Fueled by her Champaign County roots and our community’s entrepreneurial spirit, Jana encouraged bringing the product to market. The result? A patented, pocket-friendly MagSafe case and accessories that actually stay in place that also has a thinner profile and lighter weight than traditional iPhone cases.
Just in time for Mother’s Day, score 10% off your one-time purchase at theopencase.com with code CHAMBANA. Keep an eye out for more giveaways and deals coming soon!
