Job description for the Social Media Coordinator:
We are seeking a creative and proactive part-time Social Media Coordinator to help us cultivate community across multiple platforms. This position assists in the implementation of social media campaigns to drive engagement with our audiences on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and TikTok. The Social Media Coordinator assists in the creation and editing of written, photo and video content.
Success in this role requires a passion for storytelling, an ability to convey the business’ core values, excellent time management skills and an eye for compelling content. The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for working with the advertising department, the events team and other content creators.

Other duties as assigned may include: event staffing; writing/contributing to articles; and assisting on special projects.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, in person and in writing
Attention to detail and organization skills
Adheres to deadlines
Work well with others, while also being able to work independently and make own decisions
Preferred qualifications:
familiarity with tools such as Slack, Canva, Later and Meta Business Suite
active on social media
familiarity with WordPress
Functional needs:
Has access to own computer, smartphone, and reliable Internet.
Hours, Compensation, Workplace
This position is very flexible, around 10-15 hours per week. Some availability during business hours is a must.
This is a remote, work from home position; however, this person must live in the Champaign-Urbana metro area, available for occasional in-person meetings and events. Pay is hourly; rate depends on experience. Responsibility and compensation may grow depending on performance.
