Families can choose from many events and activities happening this weekend in Champaign-Urbana

Well, it looks like the snow is going to stick around for the weekend and your family might take the opportunity to find a sledding hill if you have not had the chance already. We don’t always get enough snow to sled, so we might as well make the most of this snowfall while it sticks around.

Aside from outdoor (cold) fun, we have some more events popping up on our calendar again, so we will feature a few of those below. Enjoy a winter weekend with your family!

Join McKinley Presbyterian Church and McKinley Foundation for an MLK Day of Service. This is an opportunity for families with kids of all ages to give back to our community through service. Drop by the McKinley Foundation, 410 E. Daniel St., Champaign. on Monday, January 20 between 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.. Projects include folding newspapers for the Humane Society, packaging pet food and diapers for the Garden Hills Food Pantry, packaging snack packs for the Canteen Run, creating welcome back bags for DREAAM, and making no-sew blankets for foster children. This is the perfect event for families to work together and learn the value of serving others.
