A Halloween family favorite, FunFest is returning to Market Place Shopping Center in Champaign for the first time since 2019

It has been so many years, we nearly forgot about this favorite Halloween event of yesteryear! The Champaign and Urbana Park Districts, together with Market Place Shopping Center, are excited to announce that FunFest will be returning to Champaign this year. For the 35th year, children can trick-or-treat at the mall while participating in fun games and activities right before Halloween.
This year’s event will be Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 5-8 p.m.
FunFest is a popular event for a number of reasons. One, it is FREE! Secondly, it happens over the course of several hours, making it possible for parents with all kinds of different work/after-school schedules to fit this into their calendar. Also, this event is indoors, which makes it a great reason to dress up and not worry about braving the elements outdoors as you kick off Halloween week. It makes it easy to push strollers, too. And finally, the activities that are planned and the number of volunteers that make this event happen add up to so much fun for all families in attendance.
This year’s event will feature trick-or-treating, games and a costume contest. Yes, kids are encouraged to dress up. Bring your own bag to the mall, and get ready to have a wonderful time!
