Carle’s annual Shining Light Memorial for Pregnancy and Infant loss honoring the memory of those who are gone but not forgotten will take place Oct. 15.
The service (7-8 p.m.) happens at Carle’s Pollard Auditorium with a reception to follow in the Shining Light Infant Memorial Garden at 611 W. Park in Urbana.
The service is in conjunction with the International Wave of Light, the annual worldwide lighting of candles at 7 p.m.
Registration to attend is not required; using this form will allow you to register your child’s name for the reading of names which will take place during the ceremony.
Child Life Services will host a table where children can decorate luminaries for their lost siblings. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for this.
Staff from Carle’s spiritual care and social work departments will be present, as well as canine pet therapy volunteers for support.
Masks are required inside the Forum building. The reception will be moved inside in case of inclement weather.
