University of Illinois’ Vet Med Open House to return in person for fall of 2021
This year’s open house will look a bit different than the past, but families can enjoy some exhibits in person
Traditionally a day-long, in-person experience, the University of Illinois’ Veterinary Medicine Open House last year pivoted to a virtual format because of the pandemic.
The good — no, great! — news? There WILL be an in-person Vet Med Open House for 2021. Event organizers this year have restored a portion of the previous format.
With event details posted on Facebook and the Vet Med website, we have learned there is an in-person event planned this year. (Although it is worth mentioning you can partake in the open house virtually in some fashion, too, as they will be adding some exhibits to the existing website.)
- The event is Sunday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the College of Veterinary Medicine in Urbana.
- It will be mostly outside, with organizers posting they are “moving as many exhibits as feasible to outdoor locations for public health reasons.”
- The usual “Kids Tent” activities have been suspended for this year.
- Leave your furry friends at home, as this event is for humans only.
