Parent Comment: I am the parent of an 11 year old boy that has a wonderful imagination. We have been so grateful for the STEAM Studio program that embraces this imagination and puts it into action! As we pick up our son after STEAM we always ask how his day was and what was his favorite part of the day and more often than not it was the time he spent in STEAM studio. The teachers keep the kids engaged and having fun while learning skills that will help advance them in many aspects of life. I endorse this program wholeheartedly and we are thankful a terrific and safe learning environment like this exists.
Ages Served: TEAMcation camps are available for students entering grades 3-6.

Parent Comment: “My daughter loved UFA’s summer camps! She enjoyed how each week was focused on a different country and how each day included time for lessons about the country, dance and creative moment, arts and crafts, and time outside. Luciana and her staff provide a nurturing environment for the campers. As a working mom, I also appreciated the flexibility to add late pick-ups when needed”. Christine des Garennes
“Our younger daughter attended a few weeks of the camp, and she absolutely loved it. In addition to having regular ballet lessons, she learned some traditional dances from other cultures, which was a nice change. She even performed Tarantella at home for our guests after the Italy week! She made new friends and enjoyed learning about other cultures. It was a great combination of fun and learning. I would highly recommend this camp. The camps’ hours are quite flexible, too, which is perfect for the summer.” Valeria Sobol

Parent Comment: “Uni Summer Camp is a fantastic way for Central Illinois students and parents to learn if University Laboratory High School is a public high school option for them. Did you know that as a designated Laboratory High School, while located in Urbana, Uni is open to any child in Central Illinois who applies and is accepted? The summer camp for students entering grades 5, 6, and 7 offers a great introduction to the warm, creative, diverse, fun and academically rigorous culture of Uni. If your child is bright, self-directed, self-motivated, insatiably curious about everything and enjoys being around other kids who are also, you should seriously consider checking out the summer camp. Our African American family was introduced to Uni when our son attended the camp for rising 5th graders, and he attended camp every summer until he was accepted and began attending as a student in 8th grade. Our son has always flourished in settings of academic rigor, first the Champaign Pubic Schools elementary gifted program, then in the honors curriculum in middle school. The Uni camp offers a mix of curriculum from the creative arts to the scientific, from the mathematical to the literary. Staffed with Uni faculty and upper-class students, you truly get a sense of the character and vibe of school’s academic and social environment. Scholarships are available for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch. With offerings such as architectural drawing, aerospace engineering, creative writing, community service, acting, costume making, and robotics to name a few, there is sure to be something for everyone. Don’t hesitate to look because you don’t know – check it out!” – CloLeeta A. Simpson
