The award-winning U of I Jazz Trombone Ensemble and Collective present a program of new arrangements and compositions for trombone quintet and rhythm section.
1st half: U of I Jazz Trombone Collective directed by Jazz Trombone TA, Rich Dole (program TBD)
2nd half: U of I Jazz Trombone Ensemble directed by Professor Jim Pugh (program TBD)
Over the last decade, the U of I Jazz Trombone Ensembles have established themselves nationally and internationally as the premier groups of this type. They have won competitions (sponsored by the US Army Band and the International Trombone Association) multiple times and have performed throughout the US and overseas. Both groups take pride in creating and writing all of their own music so some of the ink may not yet be dry.
