Join Teen Librarians for fun projects and activities! Staff from the CU Fab Lab will join us most weeks. Make sure to register for each attendee in advance, because some projects require picking up a kit from the Library before the program begins. Register online through the Library’s event calendar.
4/1: Learn Basic Magic Tricks
This week’s kit includes a magic tricks collection tin that includes fifty different magic tricks ranging from classic card and coin tricks to mind reading, levitation, and more. The group will be playing around with the tricks and practicing the ones we find most interesting. No prior experience necessary!
4/8: Digital Escape Room
This week, the group will be playing through a digital escape room of the group’s choosing. Depending on timing, they might play through more than one. Come test your clue-solving skills and hang out with a rad group of teens.
4/15: Paracord Bracelets
A Paracord Bracelet is a bracelet woven out of paracord. Paracord bracelets are also known as survival bracelets, 550 cord bracelets, or parachute cord bracelets and are considered a survival tool
The group will be making paracord bracelets this week. Each kit will include enough materials to make two bracelets. They’ll be going step by step, so feel free to follow along or work at your own pace.
4/22: Seed Starting
The growing season is upon us! This week, the group will be planting some seeds and learning about the best ways to take care of them. They’ll be planting a small variety of flowers, herbs, and veggies. The kit will include all the ingredients you need (pots, soil, seeds)- just add water!
4/29: Decorate Your Own Flower Pot
This week, they’ll be painting terra cotta flower pots. If you joined the group for last week’s seed starting event (4/22), this would be a perfect pot to use when the plant gets bigger! This program also pairs well with next week’s program (5/6) where the group will be making a macramé plant hanger.
