The community is invited to join the Winding Ivy Community Development Foundation, Inc., for their inaugural 5K Walk and Fun Run! This event is an event for all.  There will be numerous vendors providing information on health and wellness along with other resources and information about our community along the way.

This event will help to provide scholarships in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Epsilon Epslion Omega Chapter to college-bound women. One of the founding principles of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is its commitment to encouraging and cultivating high scholastic standards among young women. It has a rich history of providing young African American women with opportunities to go to college by establishing scholarships through its hundreds of chapters. The Epsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter, which serves Champaign, Urbana, and Danville, began awarding scholarships over 40 years ago. To date, the group has awarded over $100,000 to graduating high school seniors through fundraising and charitable efforts, and they strive to continue this important tradition.

For more information about the Winding Ivy Foundation and for registration information please visit www.windingivy.org. Individual registration tickets (13+) are available for $25.00. Tickets for the Kids Fun Dash (12 & under) are available for $15.00. For Group sales please contact Asia Hall at windingivyfoundation@gmail.com.
