The Urbana Free Library
During National Library Week, stop by the children’s area to view a giant book created by Leal School Kindergarten classes, filled with their own stories about a year of kindergarten during COVID-19.
As a part of 2020 Urbana Arts Grant and with the support of Leal Elementary School, this project was led by artist and kindergarten teacher Patricia León. Participants were encouraged to reflect on experiences of study isolated, outside from the school building, in a virtual environment at home. The project aimed to foster connection and tell the story of education in a time of isolation.
