The 2022 Hoopeston National Sweet Corn Festival will be held September 1-5, 2022.

The Hoopeston Sweetcorn Festival is unique in that, besides the normal carnival, demolition derby, Grand Parade and other events, they cook approximately 50 tons of sweetcorn with an antique steam engine and distribute the corn FREE. All events take place at the McFerren Park, located at west Penn Street and IL Route 1.

Gate fee – Thursday – Monday: $3 (7 and under free)

Thursday, September 1

5 p.m. – Gates open, vendor area and midway open
5-10 p.m. – Ride special – bracelet night
6:30 – 9 p.m. – Bingo and souvenir sales
11 p.m. – Midway and vendor area close

Friday, September 2

5 p.m. – Gates open, vendor area and midway open
5-10 p.m. – Ride special – bracelet night
5-8 p.m. – Seasonal Disorder (band)
9 p.m. – 1 a.m. – Cougar Trap (band)
11 p.m. – Midway and vendor area close

Saturday, September 3

6 a.m. – Flea market opens
6:30-7:30 a.m. – 5K registration
7:30 a.m. – 1 mile fun run/walk
8 a.m. – 5K
8 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Car show registration
8:45 a.m. – Little corn eaters fun run
9 a.m.  – Gates open
10:30 a.m. – Grand parade (downtown)
12 p.m. – Midway opens, ride special
12:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Clave Caribe (band)
12:30 – 5 p.m. – Souvenir sales
1:30 – 5 p.m. – FREE SWEETCORN
3 p.m. – Car show awards
3-5 p.m. – Beyond Carolina (band)
5 p.m. – Demolition Derby
6:30 p.m. – National Sweetheart Pageant preliminary
9 p.m. – 1 a.m. – Wise Guys (band)
11 p.m. – Midway and vendor area close
1 a.m. – Beer Garden and tent closes

Sunday, September 4

8 a.m.- Flea market opens
9 a.m. – Gates open
11 a.m. – Children’s fishing derby
12 p.m. – Midway opens, ride special all day, children’s pie eating contest
12 – 4 p.m. – FREE SWEETCORN
12-5 p.m. – Souvenir sales
12:30 p.m. – Pony tail contest
1-2:30 p.m. – Kasey Burton music
3 p.m. – Annex grandstand opens
3-5 p.m. – Nuthin’ Fancy (band)
5 p.m. – Demolition Derby classics
6:30 p.m. – National Sweetheart Pageant finals
8 p.m. – 12 a.m.- 80s Dance Party
9 p.m. – National Sweetheart Pageant reception
11 p.m. – Midway and vendor area close
