Join Illinois International and Krannert Art Museum on Tuesday, Feb. 25th at 2pm for a tour and reception exploring African art in our Encounters gallery. Free and open to the public!

This “Global African Art Gallery Talk” event is part of the Global Relations’ Diaspora Talk series celebrating Black History Month! Cosponsored by Illinois International and Krannert Art Museum, this event will highlight the rich and diverse collection of African art housed at the University of Illinois.

Explore the powerful stories behind the art, from historical forms to contemporary creations, and learn about the global connections these works represent. Through guided discussions with experts, this event celebrates the artistic contributions of Africa and its diaspora while fostering a deeper appreciation for the university’s commitment to engage with and support African diaspora heritage.

This Global African Art Gallery Talk serves as a reminder of the importance of art in shaping cultural identity, inspiring global engagement, and creating meaningful connections across borders.

Please remember that events may be canceled or rescheduled last minute due to unpredictable weather or other factors. We encourage you to reach out to event organizers before heading out to an event to verify it is still happening.
