Improve your intellectual, social, and emotional wellness with The Urbana Free Library and Urbana Park District! More than a Book Club will use the popular novel “Far from the Tree” by Robin Benway to examine what it means to be a family—whether that means biological family, adoptive family, or chosen family. Reviewers have called the book “compassionate, funny, moving, and compulsively readable.” The book will be available through The Urbana Free Library in eBook, audiobook, or hard copy format. Registered participants may begin contacting Carol at cinskeep@urbanafree.org to obtain their copy of the book on January 30. Registration is required.

Feb 16: Meet at The Urbana Free Library to discuss the first section of the book and learn more about how our personalities impact our interpersonal relationships as we participate in personality assessments.

Feb 23: Meet at The Urbana Free Library to discuss the second section of the book and learn from the library’s Archives Department about how to learn more about your family history, save memories, and conduct oral histories.

Mar 2: Meet at the Phillips Recreation center to discuss the third section of the book as the group eats and swaps family recipes.
