The Choral Union Community Choir fall semester kicks off on September 14th! Please consider joining them if you like to sing, and invite your friends!
This group is led by Barb Zachow and meets at the First United Methodist Church in Champaign on Monday nights during the fall and spring semesters from 7:00-9:00 pm.
There is a $35 fee each semester to cover costs.
The group will learn a wide variety of choral music, everything from sacred to pop, and perform a concert at the end of each semester. Solo opportunities are generally available for those who are interested!
Choral Union is open to anyone who can carry a tune. Teens are welcome! Currently they could especially use more tenors and basses. This is a great extra-curricular for teens who are interested in giving singing a try in a low pressure environment. You do not have to audition; at your first rehearsal, Barb will just ask you to stand near her while singing along with the group, so she can assess your range and make sure you are assigned to the right section for your voice. No registration required, just show up!
If you have questions or would like to learn more, you can email Barb at bzachow@comcast.net.
Please remember that events may be canceled or rescheduled last minute due to unpredictable weather or other factors. We encourage you to reach out to event organizers before heading out to an event to verify it is still happening.
