Join Champaign County Master Gardeners and University of Illinois Extension on Sat., July 9 for an in-the-garden children’s program, All About Bees. This program will be held in the Idea Garden on the corner of Florida and Lincoln Ave., 2001 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana.
In this presentation kids will learn:
- bee anatomy
- stages of metamorphosis
- identifying common types of bees
- identifying different kinds of bee nests
- learning the importance of bees as pollinators
After a short presentation about bees, children will be making a pillow case with a bee on it.
This event is recommended for children ages 5-9. Adult supervision is required. Please bring a bag chair/lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Seating will not be provided.
Seating is limited to 25 children per session. Please choose the 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. timeslot. One registration will need to be completed for each child.
The cost is $5.00.
