Families with children ages Kindergarten-5th grade, grab your family and come learn about different sciences. This program is suitable for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Cena y Ciencias is a collaborative scientific outreach program in the bilingual community. Enjoy a free meal afterward. Everyone is welcome, but please note that this program is spoken completely in Spanish and is NOT a drop-off event.
2/6 Microbial Diversity: Children will learn about microbial diversity surrounding them. The staff will help children take samples of items and let them grow in Petri dishes with growth media that they can take home and analyze, measuring diversity of microorganisms in their sample.
3/6 Aerospace Science: Children will learn about aerodynamics and how air-resistance influences how objects move through space with an interactive build your-own aircraft game. Afterwards, children will try them out and develop an hypothesis about their efficiency.
