BIPOC for Better Birth would like to offer a belly casting workshop for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) people who are pregnant. Belly casting involves creating a 3D mold of one’s belly, which can be taken home and decorated. Alternatively, belly painting skips the step of creating a mold; paint would be applied right to the belly! This workshop will be facilitated by doulas and artists. This hands-on, creative activity will include discussions around belly mapping (determining a baby’s position) and labor positions that can help create a more comfortable labor. Note: Belly casting is messy! Please wear your least favorite undergarments.
