PLEASE NOTE: This event has already occurred.
In this Black History Month class, the group will discuss why Black History Month should be incorporated into young people’s (and adults’) learning throughout the year. The leader will share how to have conversations about race and skin color with young people through creativity and art. Everyone will create their own portraits using basic paint colors and then store them in a jar to be used for other crafts throughout the year. The group will go through the process of naming/celebrating our skin colors. This class is perfect for beginners (especially young children around 5 and up)!
