Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve
Covered Bridge, Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, 7:30- 8:30 p.m.
Join the CCPFD to learn more about these ecologically important mammals, and what recent studies on this particular colony of bats have shown. After a short discussion, the group will sit and watch for the bats as they fly out of the Covered Bridge to forage for insects. Representatives from the Illinois Bat Conservation Project will be on hand with special technology to detect and identify bats by their calls.
Please bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket; some blankets will be available. Current public health guidelines will be followed; see CCFPD’s Covid Guidelines & Waiver for In-person Programs.
