Author Presentation

Jeffrey Gingold

Sunday, February 23rd, 2025

Urbana Free Library

210 W Green St, Urbana IL

2:00 – 4:00 PM CST

Author Jeffrey Gingold at the Urbana Free Library

Internationally acclaimed  author Jeffrey Gingold will be speaking about his father Sam Gingold’s experiences during the Holocaust and presenting his book Tunnel, Smuggle, Collect: A Holocaust Boy at the Urbana Free Library on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

Sam Gingold was only seven years old in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland.  Sam and his family were taken to the Warsaw Ghetto, where he helped his family survive by smuggling food and medicines.  Jeffrey will share the secrets of their survival and escape from the Ghetto, hiding and out running the Gestapo.

Jeffrey has been featured on several national television and radio shows, as well as in magazines and global publications. After his presentation, Mr. Gingold will hold a Q&A followed by a signing of his book, Tunnel, Smuggle, Collect: A Holocaust Boy.

Copies of the book will be available at the event for $18, with 100% of author royalties going to support the Lilly and David Gingold Holocaust and Tolerance Education Outreach Fund. Established in 2024 by Dr. William and Phyllis Gingold, this fund supports programming for students in grades 5-12  for Holocaust and Tolerance education.

This impactful program is FREE and open to the public. Although all ages are welcome, sensitive topics will be discussed, which may not be appropriate for children 12 and under.

Please RSVP at www.cujf.org/jeffreygingold.
