Is January not the longest month of the entire year? And January 2023 is feeling especially, um, JANUARY! We haven’t seen the sun in what feels like weeks and (while we’re not complaining), there hasn’t even been a solid snow to play in yet. While you feel like it will never end, winter is marching right along. We are bringing you some ideas this week on warm winter fun to get you through the coldest part of the year.
Hang in there, Champaign-Urbana parents and caregivers. We know it is hard to handle what winter throws our way, but spring is practically right around the corner and we can’t wait to share some of the things we are looking forward to when the weather warms this year!

Countryside School invites you to their Elementary Admissions Webinar (entering grades K-5) Thursday, February 2 at 7 p.m. Virtually visit their classrooms, hear from their faculty, learn about how to apply, and submit questions. Carle Auditory Oral School
Carle Auditory Oral School’s early childhood school program is now accepting Fall 2023 applications for children between 3 and 5 years of age. Originally designed to support children who are deaf and hard of hearing in developing listening and spoken language, their small class sizes and passionate staff provides all students with hands on learning opportunities and a solid foundation in literacy. CCRS payments (plus assigned family co-pay) now cover full tuition for families that qualify for support from the Child Care Resource Service.

Champaign Park District – Family Valentine’s Ball
Family Dances are BACK! Check out the Family Valentine’s Ball on Friday, February 10, 6-9 p.m. at The Refinery. Register by Friday, January 27.
Event is a buffet-style dinner that will include both meat and vegetarian options. Ball includes dancing, photobooth, and fun activities and goodie bag for all the kids. Photo packages will be available starting at $5 (cash and card accepted).
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Guests must be seated promptly at 6p to enjoy dinner. All attendees must provide an email address at registration to receive a pre-event email from event staff. Each person attending must enroll to ensure we have an accurate head count.
