If you’re paying attention to our event calendar, you already know that things are ramping up with Halloween happenings, some of which we will feature in weekend picks below. While you get those scheduled on your calendar, we can’t help but point out how perfect this weekend’s weather will be for bundling up with some warm apple cider and heading out to get those pumpkins. Leaves are starting to change, and that may make it a great weekend to head outdoors for some ultimate outdoor fall activities, too. This Halloween Season, Slayerville Productions Presents Baldwin Asylum Haunted Attraction “Ten Years of Fear!” Challenging its customers to survive sheer terror as it enters its 10th and final season, the Asylum opens Friday, Sept. 30, and continues weekends through the first weekend in November.

CUSR Cupcake 5K

What’s better than a cupcake with friends? Or a fundraiser that supports kids and adults with disabilities who just want to have fun? Why not have both!
The CUSR Cupcake 5K is going to be one sweet time! This is a timed, accessible race ending with a delicious cupcake. The deadline to register to receive a t-shirt is coming up on Friday, October 14. Participants can still register after that date, but will not receive a t-shirt.
Funds raised will go into the Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation’s scholarship fund, which supports individuals who need financial support to access CUSR programs and services.
Runners, walkers, and registrants who may use a wheelchair are welcome. All registrants must provide a valid email address in order to receive crucial pre-race information.
