Where to Get a Flu Shot in Champaign-Urbana

September 16, 2022 By From The Editors

Like it or not, flu season in Champaign-Urbana is just around the corner

Now, more than ever, it is important to get a flu shot. Getting a shot is the best way to avoid coming down with the flu, although maintaining proper hygiene such as washing hands frequently can go a long way, too. Those most vulnerable to the flu are the very young, the elderly, pregnant women and those with compromised immune systems.

In Champaign-Urbana, you can get a flu shot as early as this month at clinics, and some of the pharmacies are already offering it (but many don’t have it for children).

Thanks to Christie Clinic for presenting our 2022 guide to Where to Get a Flu Shot in Champaign-Urbana. Christie Clinic is providing convenient flu clinic options.

Anyone can get a flu shot as long as they do not have an allergy to eggs. These vaccines are covered by most insurance companies, but if a patient has questions they should check with their carrier.

Christie Clinic

All Christie Clinic flu clinic options are drive-through. Starting in mid-September and running through early November, these clinics are a convenient way to get a flu vaccination without an appointment.

Christie Clinic flu clinic locations include Christie Clinic in Urbana, on Windsor in Champaign and satellite clinics in Danville on Vermilion and Mahomet.

Flu shots are available for anyone six months or older.

–No appointment necessary.

–Bring your insurance card.

–Wear a mask.

–Dress in short sleeve shirts and toddlers should be dressed in diapers or shorts.

–Stay in your vehicle. Christie Clinic team members will bring you paperwork to complete — you can print and complete it here before arriving — and administer the flu vaccine through your open car window and/or door.

–Everyone who wants to be vaccinated must be seated by a car window that opens.

Flu shots are available at these Christie Clinic locations on these dates. All Christie Clinic Flu Clinics are drive through.
