We know, it’s not technically fall yet. And the 80 degree temps we’ve got going on don’t really lend themselves to “fall” feelings either. But you can start thinking fall this weekend all over Champaign-Urbana, if you haven’t already.
Families can choose from a myriad of events and activities this week in Champaign-Urbana
With Labor Day behind us and kids back in school for many weeks now, we’re ready to embrace fall. (Yes, even with the summer temperatures just hanging there on the forecast this weekend.) How about your family? Are you ready to scoop up some mums for your porch, pick some apples off a local tree, or enjoy a fall-themed festival at your leisure? If you answered YES to any of the above, it sounds like you’re ready for a fall full of family fun in Champaign-Urbana and the towns surrounding our community!
Friday, September 9 – Sunday, September 11
Arcola celebrates its rich heritage each year with the Broomcorn Festival. The “Broomcorn Capital of the World” hosts this 3 day festival in historic downtown Arcola. While in town, check out all the craft and food vendors, Broom Tent with live broom making demonstrations, 5k/10k annual race, huge parade featuring their own, world famous “Lawn Rangers”, and also a free performance by Jake Worthington! Lots to do in Arcola on Sept 9-11!
