Freedom Fest – Friday, July 1 – Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve
Come out on July 1st for Freedom Fest at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve in Mahomet, Illinois. Music begins at 4 p.m.; and at 9 p.m., after a tribute to service men and women, they Light Up The Lake with a spectacular fireworks display set to music. Admission is $2 per person, with children 5 and under free. Military persons with ID get in free. Expenses continue to increase, so additional contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Featured Event – Taste of Africa
Friday, July 1 – Sunday, July 3
This outdoor event will take place at Best of Africa Food Store at 208 West Griggs Street in Urbana. Festival Independence will feature live music, African food and is family friendly!
Tickets are $15 for ages 11+ and FREE for children ages 0-10! Purchase tickets in advance here. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Come enjoy your kid’s birthday with the Fighting Illini. Each party will receive a VIP experience that includes hot dogs, popcorn, reserved seating, cupcakes and more. To make it even better, the party recipient will receive a video board message and a special team item. Additional party experiences vary depending on the sport.
Materials Provided: Table cloths will be provided; however, decorations will not. Staff are available to assist during the birthday party.

Carle supports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendation for children 6 months – 4 years to receive the authorized COVID-19 vaccine. Carle patients and community members can schedule an appointment with their child’s healthcare provider or call the hotline at (217) 902-6100. Vaccines for this age group are administered in Primary Care Pediatric offices by Carle clinicians who are experienced in caring for infants and children.
