Champaign County Area Restaurant Week: The sixth-annual event is back in person for 2022, so if you’re so inclined, hit your favorite restaurant — or try out a new spot — to enjoy some of the area’s finest food. Check out special menus for the week. Continues through Feb. 5.
Valentines and Wine bottle dressing: You can decorate Valentine’s Day-themed wine bottles at Alto Vineyards in Champaign on Feb. 9. Wine is available for purchase and materials are provided.
Murder Mystery Dinner at Sleepy Creek: An evening of murder, mystery, dinner and wine convenes at Sleepy Creek Vineyards near Fairmount on Feb. 11. It’s a night of unique entertainment in a cool setting with good food; make sure you get your reservations.
Chocolate Fantasy in Monticello: Grab your friends or a special Valentine and spend the night noshing on chocolate confections while shopping and dining in downtown Monticello on Feb. 11. Advance tickets required. NOTE: Ticket sales will close Feb. 5 or upon sell-out so don’t delay.
Love Fest Fundraiser: Needless to say, there’s plenty going on Feb. 11. The Celebration Company at the Station Theatre in Urbana will perform some of the best love songs in musical theater history. Benefits Uniting Pride of Champaign County and the Station Theatre.
’90s Daughter “Unplugged” in Urbana: This acoustical show at Bunny’s Tavern in Urbana is back for another round. They’ll play your requests on the evening of Feb. 12.
Nancy Livingston: Jazz Standards and Love Songs: Vocalist Nancy Livingston makes her small-group debut with a stellar lineup of musicians on Feb. 14 at the Rose Bowl Tavern in Urbana. If this doesn’t put you in the Valentine’s Day mood, what will?
10 out of 12: Parkland College Theatre Productions will perform “10 out of 12,” billed as a “strikingly accurate and deeply funny record of the hardest day any theatre artist can endure — the all-day technical rehearsal, also known as the ’10 out of 12.'” Runs Feb. 17-27 at Parkland Theater.
Summer Camp: On the Road Tour: The Canopy Club’s music scene heats up Feb. 17 with numerous performances as part of its Summer Camp Music Festival series. The Main Room and the Front Room will both be hosting performances, and you can vote for your favorites to perform at the Summer Camp Music Festival.
Carnaval!: Slated for Feb. 19 at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Carnival is a concert “celebrating the French language: from operatic favorites Carmen and Romeo et Juliette to cabaret singers Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel to musical theatre’s Beauty and the Beast and Phantom of the Opera.” Accompanied by an orchestra, the company of Lyric Theatre @ Illinois students will leave you in awe.
Happy Hour Hikes: East Central Illinois Master Naturalists and Champaign County Climate Coalition invite you for a Happy Hour Hike (Feb. 25), which take place the last Friday of the month from 4-5 p.m. This one’s scheduled for Kaufman Park. Organizers say they are “designed to be low-key opportunities to enjoy a walk and talk with conservation-minded folks in our region.”
